Landscaping lovelies!

Hola Perthlings,

With the weather forecast for the week ahead looking cooler and wetter for Perth, there's no time like the present for planting and landscaping. This week we have a longer list of planty picks for your projects.

Camellias are beautiful, flexible evergreen shrubs, lending themselves to hedging, feature bush/small tree or espalier display with their glossy leaves and stunning blooms throughout Autumn and early Winter. Preferring slightly acidic soil and tolerant of full sun/part shade when established these three stunning varieties are just a few of what we have currently available. Hiryu has generous size, semi-double blooms of deep rose-pink to red shades, growing up to 4m in height and 2m in width. Julie Ann is another semi-double flower in rose-pink with a hint of silver highlights, growing up to 8m tall in an ideal environment and up to 1.5m wide. The divine Pure Silk begins its floral display with pink buds that open up into gorgeous semi-double white blooms, and will reach around 6m in height and up to 4m in width in the perfect position.

If topiaries are what it takes to line a driveway, pose perfectly on the patio in a feature pot or simply create a focal point in a garden bed, then the Ficus Hillii Flash standard in 400mm pots will create that instant appeal without having to wait months for a smaller standard to grow into shape. The lush foliage in many shades of green will need regular pruning to maintain the lollipop shape if desired and the Hillii can potentially attain 4m in height unless kept pruned to the size required.

Finally we have a perennial grass that mimics Bamboo! Thysanolaena Tiger Grass in 250mm pots are a great size to create that instant screen or feature with its clumping growth habit. Reaching between 2.5 to 3.5m tall in an ideal environment, it prefers full sun to part shade and moist, well-draining soil.

So, lots of great ideas for you here but lots more where they came from, drop us an email for quotes or ideas for all your plant needs.

Have a great week!

All the best :) Jo Joanne Hughes Wanneroo Plant Farm Ph: 08 9405 2615
